Am 13. November erscheint mit „Kylie Christmas“ ein Weihnachtsalbum des australischen Superstars Kylie Minogue, die damit ihren Fans wohl ein ganz besonderes Fest bescheren wird. Die Pop-Queen hat sich dazu hochkarätigen Gästen wie Rock-Ikone Iggy Pop und den britischen Schauspieler und Comedian James Corden eingeladen. Zudem wird sie posthum von dem verstorbenen Frank Sinatra begleitet.
Alle Stücke auf „Kylie Christmas“ wurden erneut von ihrem langjährigen Musical Director Steve Anderson produziert. Einzigen Ausnahmen sind die Songs „White Dezember“ und „Cried Out Christmas“, die unter der Aufsicht von Producer/Komponist Matt Prime (Sam Smith, Gabrielle Applin) entstanden, sowie „Every Day`s Like Christmas“, das mit dem norwegischen Producer-Team Stargate (Rihanna, Beyonce) aufgenommen wurde.
Neben ausgesuchten Duetten und einem Mix aus Originalstücken und klassischen Weihnachtsliedern hat Kylie gemeinsam mit ihrer Schwester Dannii Minogue den brandneuen Song „100 Degrees“ eingespielt, der ein potenzieller Weihnachts-Disco-Klassiker werden könnte. Und als besondere Überraschung erklingt posthum die unsterbliche Stimme von Frank Sinatra auf dem Weihnachts-Evergreen „Santa Claus Is Coming To Town“.
Auf der Standard-Edition sind neben lieb gewonnenen Klassikern und handverlesenen Remakes drei brandneue Tracks vertreten: „White December“, „Christmas Isn`t Christmas `Til You Get Here“ sowie „Every Day`s Like Christmas“, während auf der Deluxe-Edition noch die drei weiteren Exklusivsongs „Oh Santa“, „100 Degrees (feat. Dannii Minogue)“ und „Cried Out Christmas“ enthalten sind. Das Album spannt den Bogen von sinnlich-getragenen Stücken bis hin zu mitreißenden Disco-Songs.
Am 11.12. wird Kylie die Stücke von „Kylie Christmas“ erstmalig in der berühmten Royal Albert Hall in London performen. „Mit diesem Auftritt erfüllt sich für mich ein wirklicher Traum“, so Kylie erwartungsvoll. „Ich kann kaum bis zum 11. Dezember abwarten, um die Lieder endlich meinem Publikum live zu präsentieren!“.
