Frontmann Olly Alexander hat auf Social Media verkündet, dass sich seine Band Years & Years auflöst. Unter dem Bandnamen sind in Zukunft nicht mehr die drei Musiker zu verstehen, sondern Olly als Solo-Künstler.

Fans dürfte in letzter Zeit aufgefallen sein, dass Years & Years Frontman Olly Alexander in Interviews immer wieder in der „Ich“-Form von der Band sprach. „Ich mache dieses Jahr mehr Musik…“ sagte er z.B. gegenüber NME. Jetzt steht fest, dass die Band sich in der gewohnten Struktur auflöst.

Mickey wird auch weiterhin Teil der Years & Years Familie bleiben und auf Toureen dabei sein, während sich Emre auf das Songwriting und Produzieren konzentrieren will. Man darf also gespannt sein, wie Olly Alexander als Solo-Künstler unter dem Namen Years & Years auftreten wird. Neue Musik soll es schon im Frühling geben. / Berry
