Dr. Ramani Durvasula ist klinische Therapeutin und auf narzisstisches Verhalten spezialisiert. In einem kürzlich veröffentlichten Video erklärte sie den Zusammenhang zwischen pornografischem Konsum und narzisstischem Verhalten. „Die Architektur des Narzissmus passt gut zu dem, was Pornografie liefert“, sagt sie gegenüber der Men’s Health.
Defizit in der Fähigkeit zur Intimität
„Eines der Hauptdefizite im Narzissmus ist ein Defizit in der Fähigkeit zur Intimität. Für narzisstische Individuen dienen Beziehungen größtenteils als Instrument zur Regulierung ihres Selbstwertgefühls. In ihren Beziehungen geht es also nicht wirklich um Liebe, Gegenseitigkeit, Respekt oder Gegenseitigkeit, sondern darum, dass der Narzisst von der anderen Person bekommt, was er will und braucht. ”
Weiter sagt sie: „Für einen Narzisst geht es um Macht, Befriedigung, Kontrolle, Leistung und Validierung. Und Pornografie liefert all das. Es nimmt Sex und macht es zu einem Verbrauchsgut, das bei Bedarf konsumiert wird“. Sie fügt hinzu, dass explizite Filme „kein Einfühlungsvermögen, keine Verbindung, keine Gegenseitigkeit, keinen Respekt und keine Rücksicht auf die andere Person“ benötigen.
Scham- oder Wutreaktionen
Was macht man, wenn man in einer Beziehung mit einem Narzissten ist und diesen auf seinen Konsum an Pornos anspricht? Dr. Ramani Durvasula erklärt dazu: „Das Ansprechen eines narzisstischen Partners auf die Verwendung von Pornos wird wahrscheinlich eine Scham- oder Wutreaktion auslösen“. Sie warnt davor und sagt, dass dies dazu führen wird, dass der Narzisst den Partner beschuldigt, nicht genug Sex oder Aufmerksamkeit zu bieten.
In diesem Video konzentriert sich Dr. Ramani Durvasula vor allem auf heterosexuelle Beziehungen in denen der Narzisst neben der Beziehung Befriedigung durch Pornos sucht.
