Lady Gaga will eines meiner absoluten Lieblings-Gaga-Songs von iTunes und weiteren Streaming-Portalen nehmen. Gaga hat ein klares Statement zu den Behauptungen rund um Sänger R Kelly abgegeben mit dem sie den Song „Do What U Want (With My Body“ aufgenommen hatte.

Zahlreiche Frauen haben behauptet Opfer sexueller Übergriffe des Sänger zu sein. Gaga nahm das Duett mit R Kelly „Do What U Want (With My Body)“ auf, das 2013 als Single veröffentlicht wurde. Sie sagte, dass das Lied zu einer „dunklen Zeit“ in ihrem Leben entstanden ist.

Auf Twitter äußert sich nun Gaga zu den Vorwürfen gegen R Kelly und schreibt: „Ich stehe zu 1000% hinter diesen Frauen, glaube an sie, weiß, dass sie leiden und Schmerzen haben und bin davon überzeugt, dass ihre Stimmen gehört und ernst genommen werden sollten“. Gaga fügte hinzu, die Vorwürfe gegen Kelly seien „absolut schrecklich und unhaltbar“.

Der Song entstand in einem düsteren Kapitel ihres Lebens

Über die Entstehung des Songs sagt sie: „Als Opfer sexueller Übergriffe habe ich das Lied und das Video zu einem dunklen Zeitpunkt in meinem Leben gemacht. Ich wollte etwas extrem Provokatives erschaffen, weil ich wütend war und das Trauma, das in meinem eigenen Leben aufgetreten war, immer noch nicht verarbeitet hatte“. Weiter sagt sie: „Das Lied heißt „Do What U Want (With My Body)“ und ich denke, es ist klar, wie sehr meine Denkweise damals verdreht wurde“.

Über die Art und Weise, wie sie heute denkt, sagt Gaga: „Ich kann weiterhin Frauen, Männer und Menschen aller sexuellen Identitäten und aller Rassen unterstützen, die Opfer sexueller Übergriffe sind.“ Die Zukunft des Songs steht nun unter keinem guten Stern: „Ich beabsichtige, den Titel von iTunes und anderen Streaming-Diensten zu entfernen, und werde nicht mehr mit ihm (R Kelly) zusammenarbeiten. Es tut mir leid, sowohl für mein schlechtes Urteilsvermögen in meiner Jugend als auch dafür, dass ich mich nicht früher dazu geäußert habe“.

Wird der Song durch Christina Aguilera ersetzt?

Nun wissen wir aber ja alle, dass es „Do What U Want (With My Body)“ auch in einer Version mit Gaga und Christina Aguilera gibt, die ich eh viel besser fand. Vielleicht wird Gaga den Song auf ihrem „Artpop“-Album zumindest digital durch die Xtina-Version ersetzten, anstatt den Song komplett zu löschen. Wäre irgendwie zu schade.

Übrigens bestreitet R Kelly die Behauptungen über sexuellen Missbrauch. Die Dokumentarfilmserie „Surviving R Kelly“ hat zudem dazu geführt, dass die Polizei in Georgia und Chicago ein Ermittlungsverfahren gegen Kelly eingeleitet hat. Die Polizei fordert die Menschen dazu auf, auf Twitter mögliche Informationen zu übermitteln. Ein trauriges Ende einer RnB/Soul-Ikone.
