Kesha haut noch eine neue Single raus und feiert großen Erfolg mit „Woman“

Kesha, die das Dollar Zeichen tatsächlich nicht mehr in ihrem Namen trägt, feiert in dem neuen Song „Woman“ die Freiheit, die Freude und ihre Selbstbestimmtheit. Erst kürzlich veröffentlichte die Sängerin überraschend den Song „Praying“ und kündigte ihr neues Album an.

In dem Song „Woman“ geht es um eine Date Night Out mit ihren Girls:  „Don’t buy me a drink, I make my money. Don’t touch my weave, don’t call me honey.“ In den ersten 24 Stunden sammelte der Clip bereits mehr als 2,5 Mio Klicks. „Woman“ entstand aus einer Reaktion auf Trump’s “grab ’em by the pussy” -Aussage, wie sie in einem Interview mit The Guardian erzählt: “I was screaming in my car about being a motherfucking woman, out the window, pumping gas, screaming. I think people were like, she’s fucking crazy, but I was trying not to forget the melody!”. 

Mit „Rainbow“ schlägt Kesha ein neues musikalisches Kapitel in ihrer Karriere auf. So entstanden die Songs des Longplayers u.a. in Zusammenarbeit mit den Eagles Of Death Metal oder Dolly Parton. Der Titelsong wurde von Ben Folds produziert, andere Stücke entstanden unter der Regie von Ricky Reed (Jason Derulo, Eli Paperboy Reed, Twenty One Pilots). US-Shootinstar Wrabel war Co-Autor eines Songs, für den auch die Bläsersektion der Dap Kings ins Studio geholt wurde. Parton sang mit Kesha eine neue Version ihres Country-Chart-Hits „Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You” aus dem Jahr 1980 ein, an dessen Songwriting damals auch Keshas Mutter Pebe Sebert beteiligt war. Ihre Name findet sich nun auch in den Credits einiger Lieder aus „Rainbows”.   

In ihrer Karriere, die 2009 mit der Veröffentlichung des Nummer-Eins-Hits „TiK ToK” begann, konnte Kesha neun Top Ten-Hits in den US Billboard Charts landen, weltweit stehen bis dato mehr als dreizehn Millionen verkaufte Alben zu Buche. Sie hat über 28 Millionen Follower bei Facebook, über zwei Millionen bei Instagram und 3,74 Millionen bei Twitter. Ihr Videos verzeichnen bei VEVO mehr als eine Milliarde Views. Als Songwriterin schrieb sie neben ihren eigenen Liedern auch Hits für Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, The Veronicas und Miley Cyrus.
