Der Hype um den kommenden Film „Love, Simon“ ist ungebrochen. Im Sommer kommt der Film auch bei uns in die Kinos und wer so lange nicht mehr warten kann, fliegt entweder in die USA, um ihn zu gucken, oder vertreibt sich erstmal die Zeit mit diesem neuen Song.
Einer der Starts aus dem kommenden schwulen Growing-Up-Film „Love, Simon“ hat ein sehr schönes Liebeslied veröffentlicht. Schauspieler Keiynan Lonsdale outete sich letztes Jahr bei seinen Filmkollegen während der Dreharbeiten zu „Love, Simon“ und postete sein Outing im Mai 2017 auf Instagram.

Nun geht er einen Schritt weiter und veröffentlicht einen queeren Lovesong. Am 29. März kam der Track raus und MTV nennt es jetzt schon „the future of queer pop“. Die Idee zum Song kam Keiynan Lonsdale als er zum ersten Mal den Trailer zu „Love, Simon“ sah und anschließend der Disney Song „The Little Mermaid“ in seinem Feed aufploppte. Gegenüber Billboard erklärt er: „Ich habe mich gefragt, ob ich ein Cover von dem Song machen kann, aber es dahingehend ändere, dass es um einen Jungen geht. Natürlich funktionierte es nicht, aber so kam sie Hook zustande“.
Ich finde es toll, wenn schwule Männer eindeutig über Männer singen und nicht ihre Texte verschlüsselt lassen, damit sich auch andere damit identifizieren können. Toller Song!
