Drei Engel für Charlie, auch bekannt als „Charlie’s Angels“, kommt als Neuauflage u.a. mit Kirsten Stewart und Ella Balinska in die Kinos. Auch für den Soundtrack konnte drei besondere Powerfrauen gewonnen werden, die bei dem Titelsong „Don’t Call Me Angel“ gemeinsame Sache machen.
Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey und Miley Cyrus veröffentlichten heute die Single und das Video zu „Don’t Call Me Angel“. In erste Linie hätte man nicht gedacht, dass diese drei Ladys stimmlich so gut zusammen passen würden, aber sie tun es. Es ist eine sehr solide Pop Nummer, die besonders durch die ungewöhnliche Konstellation und dem Video, mit hohem Budget, besticht. Es hat eine mystische Stimmung wie Madonnas James Bond Titelsong „Die Another Day“ oder „Can´t Be Tamed“ von Miley Cyrus.
In dem etwas düsteren Max Martin produzierten Song übernimmt Ariana Grande den größten Parts, während man sich über den Part von Lana Del Ray streiten kann. Ich bin mir noch nicht ganz sicher, ob Lana in ihrem Part, der auch vom ganzen Klang und Beat heraussticht, den anderen Mädels die Show gestohlen hat oder eher erzwungen rein gedrückt wurde?
Ist es so legendär wie „Bang Bang“ oder „Lady Marmalade“?
Ist der Song ein „Lady Marmalade“ mit Christina, P!nk, Mya, Lil Kim und Missy Elliot? Nein! Ist es eine Hymne wie „Bang Bang“ mit Ariana, Jessie J und Nicki Minaj? Nein! Kann es mit dem Charlie´s Angels Titelsong „Independent Woman“ von Destinys Child mithalten? Nein! Aber es dennoch eine große Nummer, die nicht untergehen wird.
